Reminiscing

I found the disc with my senior pictures on it the other day. I graduated in December of 2005, but my class was 2006. It seems like it was so long ago, but in reality only a couple of years, I couldn't have ever imagined becoming a nurse, or the wonderful man I would marry, and the wonderful family I would gain.

For those of you who don't know I am a country girl at heart, I always had a horse and I also love to hunt, and I was very active in the FFA in high school.

My treasured FFA jacket, lots of wonderful moments in that. I was in state competitions for public speaking, did parliamentary procedure, and horse judging where I won top high individual in the nation. I was the only person to place every class of horses correctly, I was so shocked when they called my name!

Some of my trophies from FFA.

And some of my trophies from the great outdoors! ; )

Some Wedding Pictures

Here are some of the wedding pictures, four months later, were great! Kelly did a great job
on the pictures! You can also see them bigger at my facebook link: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=78265&id=611268978&l=7fb2a96c36

I really didn't think I would make it through the vows!

This one of the boys is probably my favorite picture out of them all, and I am not even in it!

I love this one too!

Connie helped me make beautiful decorations!

I made the cake myself, and Connie, looking back it was a bad idea, I only got about an hour of sleep the night before the wedding.

Changes

This week starts my transition from student to nurse. I haven't been working for the last month or so,and I start my new job today. I will be working three nights a week, 6:30pm-6:30am. I work tonight and tomorrow night. I also have school tomorrow. It works out just perfectly so that I won't see Jacob at all from Wednesday after we go to sleep until Saturday. He was a little pouty about that yesterday. After I get off on Saturday morning at 6:30 I have a cake to make for a baby shower that afternoon which I am pretty excited about, it is going to be ladybugs and dragonflies. So I am starting a marathon which seems never ending,(I don't do too well with no sleep at all) but we are definitely looking forward to the paycheck! : ) After all, this is what I worked so hard to get to.

The Test

Well, I had to go to Lexington to take my NCLEX examination, it was really booked up in Louisville and I couldn't wait any longer. Jacob switched his days off so he could drive me, he is the only person who can calm my nerves, and I was super nervous. There was a lot on the line, $250, and you have to wait 90 days to take it again, that would have been a lot of missed paychecks. Anyway, we were on the road at 5:15 am. I went to bed the night before not feeling well, and I woke up that morning really sick. We arrived at the testing center at 7:00, an hour early, but that was fine with me. Jacob prayed with me, and talked me down from the nerves. I went in around 7:30, the test not to begin until 8:00. This test has a five hour time limit, and can have a minimum of 85 questions to a max of 205 questions. I went into a room and signed in, it was like trying to get into the FBI or the white house or something. They fingerprinted me and took a photo of me. Then before you went into a room to take the test, you had to empty your pockets (no coughdrops for me!) and they would fingerprint you when you entered and exited the room. I started around eight and the computer just went off at 85 questions, it only took me about 50 minutes, I was super worried and just knew I failed, (all the questions were over drugs and their side effects) I left the room (fingerprinted again) and went to the car less than an hour later, much to Jacob's surprise. I was so sick that I couldn't be stressed for long, I just didn't feel like it. I found out yesterday morning that I passed! I also have 2 job interviews next Tuesday....to be a nurse! I just can't believe it. As for the sickness, I am still battling it, but things are looking up. I wouldn't have made it without Jacob though, and God of course! Thanks everyone for all of the prayers and encouragement!

Boards!!

I just scheduled my appointment to take my NCLEX Exam to get my nursing license.....super, super, duper nervous, I am already hyperventilating. I had to schedule it in Lexington because the Louisville facility was booked up until the end of the month. I will be taking it at 8:00am on September 9. I can't believe its time to take this test, I hope I pass because if I fail I have to wait before I can take it again, and its another $200.00. Pray for me Wednesday morning please!!!!

College Graduate!!!

I can't believe it, but I finally finished LPN school today. I had finals today and yesterday, and I did great on all of them. I also took a predictor test today to tell me how I would do on boards and according to it, I have a 90% chance of passing them the first time. I am on a high right now, I am so thankful that I made it through. Praise the Lord! My life is so wonderful right now, great family, great husband, and now a great career, and an even greater God!

Jacob, I couldn't have done it without you either, you kept me strong when I was ready to give up! I love you!

Yippeee!

By the way, I'll be posting the other wedding/honeymoon pictures this week, now that I have time, sorry it took so long! : )
